10 tips to help you successfully buy a used car
Buying a new or used car can be a time consuming and exhausting process. At New Life, we want to make that process as easy as possible. Here are 10 simple tips and strategies to consider when you’re ready for a quality used car1.Why now?
· Examine why you are ready to buy a used car at this time.Do you need a car today? Are you researching for a future purchase? What is your buying timeframe?
2.What is your budget?
· Don't let any dealership put you in a car that exceeds your budgetAvoid buyer's remorse by knowing how much you can spend - don't spend more than you can afford.
3.Will you finance or pay cash?
· Of course, cash makes the purchasing process a little easier. However, the key is to have either your financing pre-arranged or have available cash. If possible, plan in advance how you will pay for the car.
4.What do you consider the most important factors when buying a car?
· Make a list and combine that with your budget
Do you want A/C, Compact Disk Player, low miles, gas saver, how long
do you plan on keeping the car, what will it be used for, etc… use your
list of criteria and budget as your guide. Buy what you like – not what
the dealership wants to sell.
5.Take a test drive!
· Make sure the car runs good and feels right
This may seem obvious , but some buyers
get so excited because of how the car looks or because it fits their budget they don’t even test drive the vehicle.
6.Who will be driving the car?
· If the car is for someone else, let that person have input on that purchase. If you are buying the car for someone else, then it is a good idea to let them come in to see the car and take it for a test drive? What appeals to mom and dad might not be what a teenager or other family member wants.
7.What about a trade-in?
· New Life Auto does not play games with trades!Often, you hear that you don’t tell the dealership about a trade-in until late in the buying process. At New Life, we are happy to discuss your trade-in from the beginning because we don’t play pricing games with trades.
8.How important is mileage and gas economy?
· Make sure you can afford the price of the gas to run the car you buy. This goes back to knowing what the car will be used for. Remember that most cars and trucks today are engineered for quality beyond 150 to 200 thousand miles.
9.Is a warranty necessary?
· Are you prepared for what might go wrong? As with any used car, there is always a chance that something could go wrong with engine or transmission. Our website explains all of the warranty options available in a variety of lengths and pricing packages.
10. Should I ask for a CarFax?
· Know where your car has been before you buyYes! At New Life Auto Sales, we provide a CarFax report for each car at no charge to the customer before you buy. We offer the tools necessary to make an informed decision. Our faith-based commitment is to be an open, fair and ethical business
